The TO-REACH consortium meets in Milan, Italy
17 June 2017

On Monday, 12 and Tuesday, 13 June 2017, the TO-REACH consortium gathered at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy for a two-day meeting. The partners discussed the progress of the project activities during the first months and exchanged ideas about the next steps.
The first day opened with an introduction by the project management team about the initial activities, including the institution of a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) based on the feedback received from the consortium. The partners also discussed the formation of a Political Advisory Committee, to be established by end of 2017, that will integrate the research-focused role of the SAC to ensure a correct link between the project work and the broader policy arena.

The meeting continued with two presentations dedicated to the activities of Work Package 2 – Mapping and analysing priorities, common themes and gaps in research on good models of care provision in Europe, and Work Package 3 – Analytical framework and knowledge synthesis on the identification, transferability and scaling up of good models of care. Representatives from the two Work Package – including NIVEL, the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies and the Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale – presented their work and collected feedback for the upcoming tasks.
The consortium discussed other elements of the project, including the upcoming workshop in September 2017; dissemination and communication actions, such as the project website and organisation; and Work Package 4 activities, focused on sustainability, international cooperation and links with existing health-related initiatives.
On Tuesday, representatives of the Scientific Advisory Committee met for the first time with the project management team and the Work Package leaders. It was an occasion for the SAC to discover more about the project objectives and framework, and provide partners with insights and comments from their expert point of view.
